The nocebo effect is a powerful thing. If people were told, for example, that looking at the colour cyan would cause headaches, chances are that people would actually get headaches upon looking at the colour cyan, even though it’s not actually harmful.

There’s nothing “restorative” about going into a coma for 8 hours and seeing random clips or imagery. Going into a coma and hallucinating doesn’t sound like it’d be good for you. At all. There are people who’ve gone years without any sleep and are healthy, look up the case of Thai Ngoc.

If I feel tired, simply resting on a bed without actually falling asleep has been more reliable in restoring energy than sleep has.

edit: Just heard the first birdsong of the morning, store hasn’t opened yet but I’m going to go there when it opens to get some stuff I need for later.

Sleep should not feel like that. You might actually want to talk to a doctor about this. Could be a sign of a serious medical issue.

Off the top of my head, without getting my magazine-thickness stack of lab result papers I had them print out, I’ve had TSH, hb1ac, potassium, sodium, urea, LH, FSH, prolactin, DHEA, testosterone, androgens, b12, folate, ferritin, full blood count, full white cell count, IgA, calcium, estrogen, ca-125, cholesterol, etc tested.

My white cells have been low since the testing began, but I was told this is normal because as you age your immune system declines.

All my labs are normal and I’ve seen multiple doctors. I’m healthy and have nothing wrong with me.
