personally I love it when websites solve this problem with hover hints, theres something satisfying about seeing a paragraph of text on hover that just answers all my questions. not sure how that’d work for people viewing on mobile though

not quite
I haven’t heard about it before today but I tried asking it what separates it from other LLMs and apparently the answer is just that it does a google search and shows you the source its summarizing, which if true is not very compelling, and if a hallucination or missing details then its at least not very compelling as a search replacement
Good bot
i found their site and in confused by this part of their intro page:
“That was how the idea started to grow in my head. After that, I began to find existing solutions in the self-hosting space with similar backup functionality and the performance level of the App-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named. I found that the current solutions mainly focus on the gallery-type application. However, I want a simple-to-use backup tool with a native mobile app that can view photos and videos efficiently.”
what is the main thing that separates immich from other “gallery-type applications”? wouldnt all comparable apps have some kind of gallery?
oh dang my bad didn’t realize it had an xkcd specific meaning, thx for correcting me!
alt text is supposed to describe the image for people who are visually impaired, that’s just a caption
edit: didn’t know what I was talking about, xkcd has a specific thing called alt text that’s different from what I was describing, my bad lol
oh wow that’s actually exactly what I was looking for
I wish there were an option to see like 80-90% communities I’m subscribed to or following or whatever, and 10-20% posts from communities I’m not subscribed to that are getting a lot of activity. I mostly only want to see what I opt-in for, but a small amount of discovery would be nice
anytime! just remember as @Shimitar@feddit.it pointed out, these will be useless for tablet and mobile users, so you may still need an additional solution!
