Tbf if you want a big following for ads and such you need to use whatever has the people on it.

Lemmy is great for personal hobbies and enjoyment, but not running/advertising a business (which I assume the podcast is).

And it should probably stay that way? Not sure.

But I’m of the opinion that stuff like Instagram/Fb/X will always be around, but I’ll stick with things like Lemmy for personal stuff.

Testing Summit rn but will def keep it in mind

I agree in some ways and not in others. Having no ads gives Summit a big leg up for me, but there are some interfaces that aren’t super intuitive.

On Android (not sure if it’s on iOS) I like that it feels more native than boost.

Gonna download now and give it a try. Currently using Boost but trying a few different options to see what works best. A lot of people suggested Voyager but I didn’t like it very much.

I figured it out thanks! For some reason I had to restart my phone and it finally worked.

At first it wouldn’t update to fossify when I tried, so everytime it would only give me the everytime/just this once toggle for Google photos.

I’m having an issue when viewing videos with it though - for some reason it won’t let me set fossify gallery as the default video viewer so everytime I have to click it after clicking on a video. Do you know how to set the default video app to fossify?

Do you use a gallery app you like? I’m kind of sick of Google photos. I always have to “save a copy” when editing and it also separates my photos in a dumb way.

I feel that the best thing about federated social like Lemmy is just that there’s no reason to engagement farm. Like I could get big on Lemmy but unless I’m able to direct that traffic somewhere else effectively, who cares?
