ErgoMechKeyboards@lemmy.world•Kalih Choc key-cap stems broke off. What's my best bet of removing the stems?English
1·2 years agoTo my mind, that could work, the barb might not be helpful since the material might not flow quite as readily back over it as soft tissue does, but you could get an angled insertion and pretty easily get direct upwards lift with it maybe.
You might be able to fit a fish hook in down the side between the broken stem and the switch, and use the barb to pull out the stem.

9·2 years agoTo improve this method, stick the needle in at an angle, and then lift straight up and out (not along the angle of insertion, or lever it out. This way you can get it to come out even if it is poorly or not adhered to the needle.

8·3 years agoAsking questions is valuable to an online community though. People need to ask questions so that others can answer, and plenty of them (often myself included) won’t post questions they have and will just search around hoping someone else already did.

0·3 years agoWould it be possible to put hot swap sockets in the board? I’ve thought about getting a KA360, but lack of a hotswap option has stopped me from really seriously considering it.
Looking at your shop I kight pick up a set of your dactyl flexible pcbs and revisit building a dactyl if I can cut that much soldering out…
