For creators it falls down to monetization. White AdSense often isn’t the sole source of income it does serve to be a starting income before merchandise and sponsorships start keeping them afloat.

I’m not against distributed storage but treating a file catalog like it is a social platform seems like being a hammer seeing everything as a nail.

Discord is a platform that contains millions of users. It is literally inevitable criminals and sickos will use it as well. Kiwifarms is tiny and yet contains a comparable amount of crime and degeneracy as discord. It is about concentration.

There definitely are silos. Think of the most left wing progressive activist college student and how they treat the people around them and that is the expectation of this silo of the fediverse. The only other silo I know of is neonazi so we aren’t spoiled for choice. But to be fair Kiwifarms is filled with unrepentant psychopaths that revel at the suffering of all those around them and frequently engage in the psychological torture of anyone they can and the person you are referring to is no exception. Honestly if they behaved the same way in the neo nazi section of the fediverse, they would probably get banned too. That is how horrid their behavior is.
