Just remember to test with something better than your phone, T-Mobile aggressively filters VPNs. Try a coffee shop.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Nextcloud (PHP) vs OpenCloud (Go)English
2·1 year agoQuestion for the OP or anyone who uses OpenCloud: How does it size up in an enterprise? NextCloud has known capacity for corporate use with SSO, a desktop app, integrations…but it has all the pitfalls of PHP (granted I run it with Nginx/FastCGI and a lot of resources). The thing is, anything not PHP can be run for less overhead in terms of actual cloud costs, so I see a benefit to OpenCloud. But the features have to be there. I know a desktop app is coming soon, and thats just one of many needs.

42·1 year agoJellyfin is still way behind Plex in general performance but I keep a VM of it running and updated, for when the day comes that Plex is absolutely worthless.
Which at this rate, is, well, we’re getting there.

2·1 year agoSimilarly, I feel the same way about Jellyfin but Plex is making it really hard to be a Lifetime Pass member as well.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Docker Hub limiting unauthenticated users to 10 pulls per hourEnglish
81·1 year agoWell shit, I still rely on Docker Hub even for automated pulls so this is just great. I guess i’m going back to managing VMs with OpenTofu and package managers.
What are our alternatives if we use Podman or K8s?

21·1 year agoI also switched from Reds to Seagate years ago at home, no issues so far. And I have had a sad tale of Seagate/Maxtor failures before this.

I already use pihole, but with cloudflared as the upstream. What benefits does unbound offer besides improved security?
1.1.1.1/cloudflared responds crazy fast compared to anything else i’ve used. I really just wanted off Google (and before them OpenDNS). That’s about it.
