You have ads? Where do you see them? Not sure if I’m being ignorant and not recognizing them or did something right that made me not see them

I think they were saying that the read write speeds being from a NVMe would be faster than (an unspecified) SATA drive. But that was my assumption while reading
So we built big tanks with a lever system like a piston on your car. Fill the left piston with water. With a small hole in the middle. For flow. If you do the math right you get the horse to walk up the stairs and stand on that piston(header really) the water drops slowly all day forced out of the hole spinning a turbine translating to electricity, preferably a battery. Horse never has to go down stairs thankfully, just back up the stairs to the other side. Moving from one side~ 3 meters every 12 hours should do it.
Basically, horse bed one side. Horse day lounge area other
Agreed, the more I’ve thought about it I keep coming back to it being safer with all users knowing the data is easily accessible by everyone else. That will prevent users from situations as well where maybe they upvote something NSFW/controversial thinking what does it matter if they didn’t comment so no one would know it was them. Some time in the future someone may start aggregating the data to use to kink shame / call out people or such.

Every vote is recorded in activitypub and carries or else it wouldn’t know you already voted. That information is public on other instances currently, so people you are responding to may have that information.
Passport required? Shit, most of our country would be ineligible to vote as they can’t afford to travel out of the country for vacations enough to keep up to date passports. Valid up to date passports are around 40% of the population in the U.S. I believe it is trending up though. Pre 9-11 they were way lower. (Because you didn’t really need a passport to go on short trips, just an ID)
It also opens the door to more users obsessing/being confrontational with anyone who downvoted their comment(s). May send users off to downvote users comments for lurkers who rarely comment, which could shrink the population/activity over time.
Not sure where I stand on it, I guess if the info is there and will be used by others, it’s good to be aware
This is all news to me. I thought .xyz was owned by Google after they became Alphabet and had that ABC.XYZ site years ago.
Love when I see stuff like this and get to learn something new
Yeah, it likely hasn’t started, as the influx of posts/comments would skyrocket
I have a Lemmy world account I log into frequently, I have never seen a threads post here. How would they appear? Or would I only see them on Mastadon
The main point of federation for me is access to more content without it being run by large corporations. If an instance gets taken over by a toxic group that is bot spamming advertisements or such I can move to another instance and the community lives on without having to find a whole new platform.
Seems pretty simple. If you want to be able to see the content on an instance that everyone else has defederated from, create an account on that instance as well. Apps allow for pretty seamless usage of multiple accounts. That’s the easy alternative to the constant “make your own instance and run it yourself response”
I got curious and tried to search that, first response was a vanilla milkshake at that volume being 160g of sugar. Chcolate 168g. If only looking at sugar, apparently the milkshake would be the leaner option.
I think my takeaway is that the drink is higher in sugar than even mtn dew. Not drastically more. 144g would be the mtn dew in equal volume

I believe lemmy.world and lemmy.ml have porn blocked for their instances because I never see any. Those complaining about to much porn or no porn likely just need to check out a different instance.
I’ll make sure to remember your name moving forward. Your current ranking: Awesome
