Normalising helping the instances out I guess, Lemmy acts more like a group/commune and it thrives when people step up to do more than their peers at their own expense to benefit everyone
I am not American

Isn’t the entirety of Lemmy super opinionated?
Is it electron? I can’t seem to find it outside of Mac, iOS and a test for Android
I don’t think any exist
I was fighting with my linter tbh still have no clue how to write html in go like its php
And, for the comments part, I haven’t looked into it, it’s likely just a JavaScript file that connects to your server or an external one and pulls all data and whatever, its the single dynamic part and it’s done with js
Self host and third party exists. You probably could use Lemmy as a shoddy way to make comments too
I like Hugo, though it’s been the only one I used. May get too involved, and some themes have features others may not have, for example, comment integration may not exist for some themes.
Self hosting allows you to improve screen share framerate
Oh no images? 4 dollars, maybe 2 with no space 2 or 4 cores and 1 or 2gb ram
10 to 50 dollars, 400 GB, upgrade later if need be with other services, I think 4gb of ram is enough
I feel like the current Lemmy, if it grew to be as big as Reddit, would immediately defederate from a large section of Lemmy itself, creating many separate communes rather than the one (or two) we have right now
Growth is a long way away, we already lost 30% of the people that first came on board (couldn’t stand having to create their own content smh)
For mastadon, it’s like 85% mastadon.social, Lemmy has it better with only 50%
to be fair, they’re both correct. Lemmy.world could go solo with no federation and still have a decent user base, maybe add db0 and ani.social and it would cover nearly all of the bases.
Frankly, I never really used Reddit, Lemmy has been my only experience with anything Reddit like, and you know what?
The few times I used Reddit, I got no interaction done
In Lemmy, content is scarce but ironically this allows for more people to talk to; more people to talk with me
Whenever I make a comment, I get atleast one comment, whenever I make a post, it usually reaches atleast 50 votes with two or three comments
I only got those numbers two times on Reddit, and they were memes, I’m actually having decent conversations here
Do you hate Plex so much that you’re going out of your way to invent fake reasons to try to make others hate it even more?
as long as lemmygrad or hexbear don’t become urban terrorists
Can you not make a shell script that auto builds and deploys? It was really simple for me
