I totally agree with you. Should switch image hosting service, but haven’t found any similar yet that are close to ShotShare’s simplicity and quality.

I find ShotShare really nice. Have used it for maybe a year now and it works wonders for especially forums. Seems to be abandoned now though.

4·4 months agoAh, ok. Sounds like it’s 2FAuth you’re after. There’s an app for it, too: auff. Or Bitwarden (Vaultwarden if you want everything that Bitwarden have with no paywalls.

But is Cloudflare required to use FMD?

Purely awesome app if you scan a straight paper that are not cut in any way. I miss the ability to manually crop the images. Will still use the app, though.
Thanks for recommending it 🙂 Have always used a flatbed scanner for my papers (receipts, bills, etc.), but now I can scan on the go 😊
Snikket user here, too. Have used it since maybe 2024 and are very happy. The only downside is the clients even if they are very good (especially Gajim and Conversations), but also video calls.
I got so annoyed with video calls I ended up with installing Jitsi Meet. Works like a charm with no issues with video, voice, rooms, screenshare, or chat.
So whenever I want to have a voice/video call with someone these days, Jitsi Meet is the only way to go for me. If the voice call need to have an extra layer of security, my Snikket server works good.

6·6 months agoJust don’t get a court order by Meta like the other dude that created a front-end for Instagram. Can’t remember the name since it was before the pandemic. There was a lot of news about it in the FOSS community.
Based in USA and using AWS? Hard pass. Even Stripe is bad enough, but I do understand that one.

1·8 months agoYou actually can drag-n-drop pictures to the chat. Just drag them (dropping multiple images is possible) to the message text field and the image will be uploaded and shown in the chat - scaled down if it is big.
Ok. Same here, as of now (small group of people). I haven’t noticed any spam even if I have my XMPP address public. In pure text that is, but still.
If that is true, I haven’t noticed anything yet.
No bots in XMPP, please.
Just wanted to thank you for the idea of having an wiki for every relative on my own genealogy website. Thank you! :) Added that feature right after I read your posts maybe 13 days ago.
I replaced SearxNG with degoog on my server. Feels very much like Google, yet it is not. I did enable Google for search results and image, but it refuses to work (good). Am using DuckDuckGo and Startpage instead, through degoog, of course.
