Ah, yeah that makes sense then. They’re over 30M active users now.
I play guitar, watch USMLR and NHL, occasionally brew beer, enjoy live music and travel, and practice sarcasm.

Jack is still the single largest shareholder of private Bluesky stock …
Oh vraiment?

If anyone tells you Jack isn’t involved with BlueSky any more, you should really block them for either being willfully ignorant, or purposefully mistrustful
Sure thing. 👍
Their protocol allows for federated relay servers, but I’m not aware of anyone having done the exercise of launching one.
Hard European Tankie Left, who Administer and Moderate most of it’s instances
Weapons grade balognium. There’s ml and Lemmygrad, sure, but that’s not “most” instances by a long shot.
Jack isn’t involved with BlueSky anymore. He left the board when they told him to fuck off with his push to get rid of moderation.
I’ve got nothing to add to the other replies on your mischaracterization of antio-Zionist as anti-Semitism.
But that still just creates a new Pixelfed account which trusts the Mastodon account identity, and it must be followed separatel from the Mastodon account. And you can’t enable the SSO between existing accounts, and there’s no account migration on Pixelfed.
but I think the assumption that you’d centralize multiple AP services in a single app now feels entirely obsolete
It’s not that I want a single app, it’s that I want a single account with all my posts/data even though I’m using different apps. I don’t want to have to have so many duplicate follows across all the different fediverse apps.
Pixelfed briefly had ability to show posts that don’t have a picture attachment. I couldn’t find any reason why the feature went away.
As the mod of a couple of sports communities it would be nice to have some more automated content being posted (like game-day match threads, player trades, etc). However, I have yet to receive a response from sportsbots to any of my requests for adding league and team accounts to be mirrored. I don’t think I’d want every one of their microblog post to show up in the communities, though.
Hm. The majority of posts I see on my home timeline are from my followed hashtags, rather than from followed users. So I guess my experience is already notably different than yours.
In the [pixelfed] web UI, on the bottom of the post it should say how many times, if any, a post has been shared (boosted) and a clickable link to show who has shared it. The android app doesn’t seem to include that information though. Also I get a notification when someone has shared my post.
Can an instance block individual communities? I would think if users just don’t subscribe to the political and then set the feed view to subscribed that should sort it out for them.
What’s missing is that Pixelfed shot up in usage this week with it’s official app releases on Apple and Google app stores. It at one point surpassed Facebook and Instagram in the top 10 on Apple I think. That surge was enough to reduce Mastodon’s usage to under 70%. I think Pixelfed monthly active users is now like twice that of Lemmy.
I was just looking for the setting to enable text-only posts on pixelfed.social but it doesn’t seem to be there. 😐
Only insofar as the instance stays online. Pixel Fed is compatible with multiple other platforms such as Mastodon, Missley, Sharkey, and Fire fish. So the global feed on Pixel Fed shows you photo posts from users of all federated instances of those other platforms, too. And they can all see posts from federated Pixelfed instances.
I have seen an uptick in posts saying “block this maga/Nazi/etc” but I haven’t personally directly seen any. I use the Following feed so I only see posts from the people I’ve specifically asked to.
Paging @pixelfed@mastodon.social
There are a couple of pixelfed Lemmy communities you might want to cross post this to. If you already have a mastodon account you might post there with #pixelfed #flickr
Lemmy doesn’t have a feature to follow users, last I checked.
I just tried searching for @pics@lemmy.world on pixelfed.social and it was not found. However I can find myself when I search for @baronvonj@lemmy.world on pixelfed.social. So seems like you can’t.
