Are you a vim junkie? Do you find your wrist is still a bit “cocked” when using mouse in the middle?( its what I was trying to avoid)

Setup is very similar to mine in shape, but different makes and arrangement.
Did you previously use your mouse in the middle pre trackball?
I’m on Elcom huge + hand wired scylla :)
If it’s the only way to press the letter / sign / number you need, you remember pretty quick.
I think you’ll end up going layers on your everyday after you do it on your “other” board.
When do you do the choosing? Try move that left in the process. Saving storage.
Nice resource! Thanks
You Borg the whole disk? Or which paths?
3rd party MJF printed, but then i handwired and soldered the 6x5 orthosplit.
Get solid core wire and prepare to debug. But hey, you learn your Keyboard back to front. It’s good feeling afterwards :) also knowing you can fix it no matter what.
Journey not the destination.etc etc.
Remapping my brain<->fingers for multi key presses was crazy for me at the start on thumb clusters. Cannot imagine on this
Self made Scylla for a year (it’s a dactyl type - 6x4 plus clusters, split, tented, welled, ortho) and I’m cruising on it.
Still adjusting 1 or 2 keys on ZMK but from comfort its amazing.
Bluetooth, USB-C and battery. Enjoying life!
Printed it with MJF and then built and handwired it myself.
I used Brown cherry’s and nice Nanos boards running ZMK!
Ahh looks nice!
But won’t drag me away from my concave Scylla and Elecom Huge anytime soon :)
Not a big fan of touchpads, leave you with sore wrists.
Put a ball or a track point on it and it would look interesting for me.
Thinkcenter tiny, 4 external HDDs, a DAC, a raspi3b+, was like 25W I think.
If less keys is better may depend on if it’s mac or not (apparently).
Could be lack of customisation available on Mac? (guess only)
Looks like USB C to a pogo pin / magsafe type connector
I do this and just run Ubuntu on a Thinkcenter tiny.
Then this for input off the sofa.
I also put a few Braille dots on few buttons and glow in the dark paint on a few important dots to make it more usable which really works, Braille especially.
Then… A few bookmarks in the firefox, jellyfin, navidrome, Spotify, vlc/MPV from mounted NAS etc.
I don’t bother with any media/apps interface, I mostly see them as annoying and not needed with this KB/trackball setup.
Then…Bob’s your uncle!
Copyq is now your friend.
If your workload doesn’t run well on a raspi you cannot use a raspi…
There is still the real vnc lite version btw. 3 machines
Maybe I’ll try that…the 45 degree as that should help.
For my work setup I’ve got my laptop in the middle with split KB either side then trackball on far right. I like the laptop screen there since it’s 4k and symtetric (and get access to trackpad for some gestures ) but I think I would rather a trackball there eventually
