Neat, trying it out really just to support since this is the exact kind of thing we need in the world

Sweeeeet thank you! Demo looks great. Now to figure out whether an uber n00ber can self host it in a jiffy or not. 🙏
Heck yeah
Which CRM please?
Yar. Simplify or die (I hope not)
Choosing an instance has gotta be culled. Can be reintroduced for users who get comfortable with the platform though perhaps. Or use external sources to determine a user’s default instance (like communities can try to earn Default credits for instance, then users will be defaulted to those instances).
Wonder if anybody tracking how much the funnel shrinks at the “choose an instance” step.
Potential Simplification Strategies for the Fediverse
Courtesy an LLM eh? 😉
I mute a few more non-English accounts each time I use Mastodon
I agree it gets complex for users. But pushing back a bit, wouldn’t we instead say:
We could tell new users “Sign up on Lemmy.com and if you decide you
don’t like the UIaren’t a pedophile justchoose an alternative and use the same credentials to sign inmake sure you start blocking.”
I have in mind that the top blocked instances are pedo oriented. Also seems like it would create a liability issue for servers mirroring that content.
Although it’s not a perfect solution to choose a default instance for new users, I do think it’s a powerful question to eliminate.
Nice, @A_A@lemmy.world, we feeling heard? 😉
Great trial! Will see if you end up feeling a need to iterate sometime later!
Wow neat!! Eating our cake & having it
Thanks @A_A@lemmy.world
I have this brilliant original idea, scroll down, and here you & @A_A@lemmy.world are…
I was thinking an app like Voyager could help vote from a non-posting account. Maybe it’d need to route through a proxy to better obscure the connection between a posting and non-posting account. Seeing PieFed, suppose you could try that route instead but your idea might be more secure. Folks just have to trust you I suppose hehe. Maybe one could build greater trust with a Lemmy app (Voyager) than an instance (PieFed) if they proved the app kept stuff private locally, or am I wrong?
To spam on here I suppose it’d be good to try to start a popular community on your own instance and then see who usually reports and downvotes spam, then block them from accounts you plan to use to astroturf or otherwise send spam.
Sigh
omg they WHAT
Great to know, wouldn’t wanna be associated with someone who seems to specialize in far-right businesses.
Interesting, had to check and see: 4chan is registered with Cloudflare.
A part of me would rather these baby Hitlers operating in the open in case it’s harder for the FBI to follow them around the dark web. Downside is clearnet makes it easier for low-braincell nazis to communicate. Woulda thought we’d have socially stomped out extremism by now so doing it technologically wouldn’t be necessary…
Alas.
Hopefully it’s not a common last name + a first name that suddenly became popular, could imagine it getting scooped by someone else.
Mammoth, Ice Cubes, Ivory all good on iOS
Thanks :)
👏
I recognize there’s a likelihood you are usually being paid for answers like that. Thank you for satisfying my curiosity for free :)
Too young.
