The pricing since the pandemic has been cheaper than Raspberry Pi4’s in my region.

That’s what I’m using, it barely uses more power than a pi & it’s a 64bit x86 4core with 16GB Dual Channel, 256GB SSD.

I’ve seen newer versions of what I have for cheaper than the average Pi4, I would never consider the Raspberry over this solution given how monolithically more powerful it is for how small they are.

Thanks for the link, I had been trying for a while and one of my domains doesn’t even work now after I changed too many DNS records.

How do you get it to work in root domains? I’ve only ever been able to get subdomains to work.

No matter how many times I authenticate with my card, it never works and their support is rather frustratingly low quality.

It’s great with subdomains, I don’t think it works on root Domains but it’s still extremely easy to set up.

I would recommend forcing HTTPS as well as creating a Page Rule enforcing strict SSL.

If I remember correctly, I had to link my github account to get this, but I believe that was just for the free part.

I’m currently setting up jellyfin as a test run for just my music library to see how the metadata & customisation is managed, currently I’m struggling to merge an artist that has been split and the only suggestions I find is to edit the filenames.

I’m fairly happy with porkbun, I would choose CloudFlare due to the services they offer, but considering they don’t support as many TLD’s, Porkbun would be my preference.

I really hope Jellyfin gets a leg up soon, as a Plex Lifetime Pass owner I have become more and more discontent with the platform.

When I paid for my personal licence, it included downloads for all my users, now its cutoff to only older users. I had expected that Plexamp would only be restricted to me while it was being developed, but it remains locked away from my users should never individually have a reason to subscribe for just themselves.

I bought my licence to support the company for the use of my server and I feel like they’ve only downgraded my service in the last couple years. Getting new users to jump through all of the hoops with their pinned content, only to have them ask me why there are adverts on my movies is frustrating.

I feel like very little has improved in the core product in years, my users default settings are still transcoding to the same bitrate, or 10x its bitrate. Every time I have made a valid suggestion on the old subreddit, the Plex devs had plenty of time to reject any and all criticism.

I don’t believe Plex is going to get much better and likely we will see further erosion of our licences as the company only focuses on free users and the FAST service. I will keep checking in on jellyfin and alternatives, hopefully they get a boost soon.

Which are honestly some of the cheapest in the market, plus you own the domain and have the right to transfer it out, only paying the new registrar for a renewal after 60 days.

Hopefully CloudFlare add .dev & .app in the next year, given Google’s decision, I still can’t believe Squarespace is getting all those accounts.
