I was actually talking about here on Lemmy. Though I have been banned from a few subs on reddit as well.

I’ve lost track of how many subs I’ve been banned from cause I pissed off a friend of a mod.

50·4 months agoThis potential dilemma just further highlights that cloud-connected devices should be enhanced by connectivity, not reliant on it.
This should be everyone’s takeaway.
The problem isn’t the company possibly going out of business, its the loss of online service nerfing the device that is the real issue.

16·8 months agoHoly shit this is so unbelievably full featured it’s not even funny. This is going to rattle some big names. I wonder how long till they try to shut it down because it’s better than anything commercially available.
Nah, that’s just going back to my original point. Why I commented in this thread at all. Some people were acting like Lemmy was dead cause .ml devs were douche bags.
My point is that .ml is becoming less and less relevant to Lemmy as a whole as time goes on and as more users join the fediverse. New instances are always good but running down perfectly good ones like Lemmy.world is very regressive and that kind of behavior is what I left reddit to get away from.
Not all instances of Lemmy are run by tankies. Many are run by just Linux enthusiasts.
I think you have misunderstood something. I do not agree with .ml people(tankies and such). And the issue is whether or not a person can just ignore their rantings and simply enjoy Lemmy.world
I have not found it hard at all to just ignore the .ml devs and people in general. Why is this such an issue for literally anyone?

1111·10 months agoIt’s the recent “We all hate Plex now” because they implemented a price in regards to the way we access content remotely because it was costing them too much to maintain for free. So anything that smells even remotely like they are trying to make money is getting the shocked and dismayed reaction. Usually followed by a dozen or so people talking about how they’ve ditch Plex ages ago for a truly free platform like jellyfin/Kodi/etc.

22·2 years agoI understand that this information is already basically public but there is a thin barrier to the average nitwit user accessing such information and going in a rampage screwing with people who have downvoted them. I’ll say this, if they make it more public I think I will just simply stop voting. I will continue to use Lemmy but only as a passive user.

After the meltdown that occurred when Reddit ultra monetize their API Lemmy acquired a lot more casual users. Especially when makers of Reddit apps switched over to making Lemmy apps instead.
Turn off history on youtube. From that point on you will only get shorts from the people you’re actually subscribed to and nothing else.
Oh and even with history turned off when you start a regular video from one of your favored creators, the sidebar will continue to suggest videos from other people you are not subscribed to. So you will not be completely isolated. But it will tone down the brain rot considerably.
