It took me a while to find out what an “AP server” is.
Perhaps you can write “ActivityPub” going forward? I know this is the fediverse community, but “AP” can mean different things to different people.
Thanks. Looking at the admin’s profile, he seems to be very reasonable. I especially like this comment he made:
“Not sure if I actually have to justify removing soviet and/or nazi symbolism, but I have lived my whole life in a country on the border of Russia. My country been ravaged by both Nazis and Soviets in very recent history. I want to be clear that while I think criticising capitalism is totally normal and necessary, I am also extremely aware of constant Kremlin propaganda. Propaganda which is spread both in their media, but also crucially in online channels. Propaganda which includes things like downplaying horrifying actions of the soviet union, portraying their “enemies” (the west) in the worst possible light, and mixing in soviet symbolism wherever possible. I have no intention of allowing anything which resembles this propaganda to be spread through lemm.ee. If banning offending users does not work, then further steps will definitely be taken.”
Who owns lemm.ee and why do people choose it over other instances?
This looks amazing for a pre release. Infinity was my daily Reddit app too. So glad to see it here.
I hope it will be compatible with kbin eventually.
Sounds like a nightmare for mods.
You are posting this on lemmy.world with your lemmy.world account. Perhaps you can start by migrating yourself to another instance?
Every instance has different resources (hardware, people, time). Some instances are able to support more users while some others are intended for small audiences.
I don’t know the architecture of Lemmy, but in many cases a server can be scaled for more users, by load balancing, distributed computing etc.
Agree with you about karma, but downvote might be necessary in order to keep spam/trolls/self-promotion etc away.
Thanks. I have been looking to join a community against the tankies.
You tankies talk about “misinformation”, what a joke.
More details in the link above, here is the introduction:
"My concern is that users are being banned and content is being removed on lemmy.ml citing a rule that is not publicly stated anywhere that I have seen.
Moderators of lemmy.ml are removing posts and comments which are critical of the Chinese government and are banning their authors."

Here is one of the Lemmy devs denying that the Uyghur genocide in China is happening:

“The Uyghur genocide is as real as white genocide.”
Here they are again denying it:
https://old.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/xq49ct/deleted_by_user/iq951cv/
“The holocaust was a genocide that actually happened, with all the evidence that goes along with it. There is no Uyghur genocide.”
“Do you believe in anything as soon as the word “genocide” gets attached to it? What about “white genocide”? Are you a white genocide denier?”
And just so nobody can deny that parentis_shotgun is a Lemmy dev: -
“I’m one of the devs of Lemmy” https://i.imgur.com/5kp9BP0.png
Direct links to the posts will not work but still exist on the user’s profile page: https://old.reddit.com/user/parentis_shotgun/ - hold PgDn until comments stop loading then Control+F. In fact feel free to peruse their history in general - it’s quite interesting.
One of my favorite posts is their defense of the government of North Korea in /r/AskTankies: https://old.reddit.com/r/asktankies/comments/tb1836/okay_but_dprk_seriously/i04d1wu/
Now ask yourself why would someone who is not a Red Fascist Tankie piece of shit be answering questions on behalf of Tankies in /r/AskTankies while defending a totalitarian regime? Is it… perhaps because they’re in support of such a regime because they are in fact a Tankie piece of shit?
What if more and more hobbyists and volunteers work on the project, just like the majority of Linux development?
