That’s okay, I’m sure the lemmygrad and hexbear users are embarrassed to find out you use it too.

Connect is so good I’m surprised I don’t hear about it more.
I mean I’d be more interested in it going the other way, and following a few mastodon accounts on my lemmy app. I’m not on mastodon and don’t care to post there, but it’d be nice to be able to see some select things in my feed.
I’ve seen people say this, but how? Are any lemmy clients compatible with mastodon in the sense that you can follow people or instances? I thought that was the big draw of kbin, that it combined both.
I don’t understand people wanting to defederate entire instances either. If you don’t want to see stuff from there just block it. The whole idea of federation seems pretty pointless if all the instances are just gonna end up as walled gardens. Plus there’s hundreds (thousands) of users there. You can’t just paint them all with the same brush.
Gotta make a name somehow. (/s)
I was frustrated with the outage yesterday and created a new account on a different instance so I could still browse. Couple hours later I had all my subscriptions filled out and the experience is almost identical to my first account.
Wow it must be incredibly irritating being so pedantic. At least for everyone you interact with. But you’d think someone so hyper fixated on accurate language would know what a metaphor is.
I have a feeling OP’s “friends” wont necessarily even be aware hes connected the device to their network. It sounds to me like he wants something he can hide places to take advantage of unsecured or public networks without having to sit there with his laptop doing whatever shady shit he has planned.
