  • It gets better, they also claim bush was a progressive… But yeah it’s just those they hate are the ones that deny reality.

Conservatives can be progressive too though - e.g. George Bush, the Republican President of the USA prior to Obama.

And speaking of the USA, the party on the “left”, the Democrats, are most definitely liberals, while the party on the “right”, the Republicans, are conservatives. One thing that that means is that for most of modern history, there has been no true “left” party, hence most people inside the USA - and by extension, most people on Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, etc. since they got their start and maintain their strongest base in the USA, prior to opening up to an international audience. So to your average Redditor, “left” =~ Democrat = liberal.

And ironically, as horribly incomplete as that statement is, it is still more accurate than what tankies, especially Hexbears, believe. e.g. that Russia, China, and North Korea are somehow “communist”, rather than totalitarian dictators under the guise of democracy and capitalism.

And that is why I am saying: they’re not left at all. They only claim to be, which does not make it true.

  • PS: The discussion on this post turned mainly into a (one-sided) debate about whether the content of my contributions passes the Lemmy ideological purity test. So dull, yet so predictable. To be clear: I stand by everything I’ve written on Lemmy. Efforts at shaming will fall flat, as will pompous denunciations and attempts at dunking based on virtual sleuthing. I’m far too secure in my convictions to be bothered by a brigade of insufferably self-righteous progressives trying to one-up each other in their efforts to root out dissidence. To the (quite numerous) others who offered interesting feedback and kind words, thanks.

They’re even blaming us for not wanting to go along with them that their experience has nothing to do with their comments or posts

So the entire point of this post is to just minimize the reasons for your entire post?

This reads as yes I have said terrible things that lead to the less good and lowlights but I am entirely valid to have them even though I am entirely the reason for the experience

It sounds and reads as someone who goes into as a football reference the pub that supports the team that hates the jersey you come in wearing and blame them for asking you to leave or say bad things about said team.
