My understanding was that this mod’s accounts disappeared from everywhere (including Reddit), not just Fosstodon. So, I think they deleted their accounts themselves to avoid the backlash or something.
Wish instance blocking actually blocked properly. But the main devs know everyone would block the tanky triad immediately and they’d have no one to troll.
Good thing there’s so many options for people to find what they’re looking for.

Then you’re the target audience for Bluesky and similar. Mastodon and other fediverse sites don’t have that and that’s what most of the people here prefer.
I forgot about Lemmy for a few days just because it’s not so addictive and I like that. It’s actually refreshing when you realise you’ve been gone for a few days without missing it.
It’s Twitter 2.0. It’s what the average person wants. It’s popular because it has algorithms and all the other addictive things from corporate social media.
Mastodon and others don’t have these things and are harder to get started with. Picking a server is weird and scary. After that, getting your home feed started is difficult if you don’t know to just follow some hashtags.
Maybe they picked it up again. Or we’re talking about different Raccoons. Either way, good to have a fallback and Thunder has been great.
The dev gave up on it due to too many entitled demands from users or something from what I remember.
ETA: Try Thunder as well. Raccoon was my backup for it back then.

Yes, that would seem like an ISP, DNS, or some other block. Try changing the DNS on your devices to p0.freedns.controld.com or something similar and test again.

Yeah, I made an Mbin account but haven’t used it because I haven’t found a way to import my communities and follows from Lemmy and Mastodon. Would love to try the combined approach but I have too much for a manual transfer.
In a sense, yes. But many people disagree specifically with what and why .world is banning.
