Some Canadian politicians made a fuss about it but walked that back. I don’t know of any actual national bans, and most people aren’t going to know what it is at a glance anyway. Worst I can think of is the trend of some politician events banning “flipper zeroes and raspberry pis” (which is also controversial/stupid) so maybe don’t take it with you if you’re business travel involves political rallies.

At the very least it has built-in universal power, volume, channel, and maybe some other buttons. Now that I think about it though, I bet I could make a companion app so your phone acts like the TV remote and sends the signal over the flipper via Bluetooth.
Plus you can store your hotel key, garage remote, and who knows what else in it. It’s a really cool little tool to have.

Apologies for the lack of detail but I want to make sure you know about the tool traceroute. The speed at which you connect depends on every node between your remote location and home, plus there will be some overhead with whatever tools are involved.

I have not used a yubikey for boot stuff as you describe, I am a fan in general though.
That said, I have a setup on my servers where there is full disk encryption and a password stored on a random file in a thumb drive or SD card of each machine. If the file / drive is removed I can always type a manual password as well to complete booting. And if I need to do a clean wipe I just delete the keys or intentionally corrupt that sector of the drive, instead of having to do forensic cleaning.

Y’know, I haven’t really thought about it, but genesis games are at most 4MB, usually much smaller. Most websites are bigger tbh (AI says the Google landing page is 2MB).

I have not set it up yet but plan to do so soon. I could imagine a requirement of owning a host name so that you can have a certificate, but I imagine an IP address would work just as well. You will need to open ports on your router according to the documentation; I haven’t looked into reverse proxy options or anything to prevent the firewall changes being necessary.
But yeah, my understanding is it’s totally doable for “free” (i.e. using your existing infrastructure).
Sounds like everything is containerized; I would start rebuilding the container.
The apple silicon is more energy efficient but the latest Intel and AMD CPUs deliver more processing power and can also share a significant amount of RAM to the GPU / AI components.
I have not done it but I understanding is file player has a service that does this for you, obviously not self hosted in that regard but still a popular choice.

I am sick and slightly out of my mind anyway so I’m not going to be very helpful. One thing that stands out though, if you can SSH the machine and you can curl local host to Port 8,000 or whatever. This should help you troubleshooting the container while it lives on the VPS I think
Idk, I had not heard of gitea or forgejo before. Personally I really want strong & flexible CI/CD, and Don’t know what the alternatives have to offer there, but it would be worth looking into. GitLab is pretty resource-heavy even for low user count.
