Good idea, but It would hard to cooperate efficiently when there is money involved. And I don’t think that Mastodon devs would join this union.

On the other hand, I believe that separate organisation focused on interoperability, long-term goals, defending from Meta, etc. would be great.

Yet there are tens of thousands of users and hundreds of admins who are happy with Lemmy in its current state.

There is no tag system on lemmy, but you can block or subscribe to specific communities.

As far as I know every lemmy frontned supports it. If I understood your question correctly

I think that Explore is very confusing name for feed type. IMO there are 2 better ways to do this:

• checkbox called “discover new posts” or something similar. It would randomly throw posts from All to Subscribed
• “Mixed” feed type with a slider that allows users to set how many posts from All and how many from subscribed will show up in Mixed. It can look like this:

All (20%) ==( )======== Subscribed (80%)
