6 months agoK3S sorta makes sense in an enterprise environment but for the small one box use case it’s overkill and a pain to work with for little extra gain.

I do? I don’t love Android TV but I only have so much time to fight to the good fight with shit.
I would like a less smart tv but I don’t want to by a 7 year old Nvidia Shield and suffered paralysis by analysis trying to decide on on an Android TV box.
So here we are, I use jellyfin on a smart TV

Really? I’m on a Linux desktop and I had not noticed. Though I steam from Netflix on it very very rarely.
The disagree is for soft walking things. They give you the choice so people feel like they have one and don’t complain, then in the future they will continue to ask everything anything changes and if you accidentally agree they will never ask you again.
It’s good they put it up front though. There can be a lot of entitlement with oss users sometimes and setting expectations can help alleviate that.
123·2 years agoI know this might hurt to read but the average reddit user probably is someone who doesn’t know how email works.
That really is not a satisfying answer. It is incredibly nebulous and even if it did have a nice definition I guarantee most software developers will tell you a lot of software rarely reaches that state.
I can see why they might want to avoid 1000 GitHub issues bike shedding things but they could open source the code and just not have open contribution

Anyway those are probably the lowest effort content which is why you see it most. Over time though the other forms will come. Most of Reddits front-page is memes and news for the same reason.
I’ve been trying fin Droid which works well but it’s definitely a work in progress.
Except when it comes to SSDs.
Under some work loads they just get chewed to bits long before they are obsolete.
As much as some people deride it Javascript is one of the most used languages on the planet.
This is basically the same as people thinking windows is less secure because it’s more often targeted.
JavaScript does have a bit of a problem with dependencies but it isn’t much different than other languages with built in package managers like rust. It’s just a bigger juicer target.
