Mastodon is open source and federated.

The fediverse isnt a reddit alternative. Lemmy is. The fediverse is a network of different type of service, like lemmy, mastodon, or peertube.

And with Discourse. No federation with companies !

I joined a local instance of mastodonte. I had days without being able to access my stuff, and finally recreated an account on the main mastodonte instance. So this time I directly picked a large instance.

Do you need some particular python stuff or is it all provided ?
