i route all incoming traffic through a tp-link vlan switch to openwrt router in an lxc container to vlan dmz in which all public service traffic is

all the public services and openwrt are running in proxmox lxc containers. all public traffic is trapped in the vlan dmz

all your containers and other services will be managed through one re-usable file

if your server is >= 8GB then proxmox gives a nice interface builtin. i use it to make nixos lxc containers in which i run my containers. which does actually make sense

I used Pf as my vlan router and it worked fine but was surprisingly clunky and bit resource heavy

Openwrt seems to offer all the same stuff and is shockingly efficient. Also works in lxc containers effortlessly

give NixOS a go if you’re cool with configuration files

it has a GUI installer and can install gnome or whatever if you’re not comfortable with ssh only
